Books that educate

I am often asked, "How did you get a book published?" It's a very long story, but the short answer is, "Educational publishing." Work is more abundant with educational publishers, and it's easier to get a foot in the door. They kept me busy illustrating classroom books which allowed me to explore many styles. When a major tradebook publisher called to see my work, I had a portfolio full of published and polished artwork.
